It’s getting competitive online! Who’s next? 3 major online retailers are now offering FREE shipping with no minimum for the Holiday Season!
- Amazon is offering free shipping on all items sold from Amazon with no minimum purchase (excludes add-on items), even if you don’t have a Prime membership. This starts today and will run through Christmas, though an exact end date has not been released.
- Target is offering free 2 day shipping and return shipping with no minimum purchase through 12/22 (there are a few exclusions).
- Best Buy is offering free shipping with no minimum purchase through 12/25 (there are a few exclusions).
Many Amazon Prime members are not happy that everyone will get free shipping for the holiday season, however free shipping will take 5-8 days compared to 2 days for Prime members. There will also be several Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals exclusive to Prime members, and Prime members still get early access to Lightning Deals.
Prime members will also get no-rush credits when they order items with the slower shipping speed. You can find this option during checkout.
Amazon is walking a fine line as they move to increase sales without angering Prime members. Their customer service will be extra generous to help if you have any concerns.
