I made the mistake of telling my daughter about Pinterest a few weeks ago. I explained it as a place to find fun things to do and then let her scroll through an entire feed of kid activities hearing, “I want to do this!” after each picture. Now when we have down time she’s always up for a Pinterest activity. Our activity today was making and playing with Cloud Dough! It was so easy it’s worth sharing!

Just mix vegetable oil and flour in a 1:8 ratio (we used 1/2 cup vegetable oil and 4 cups flour) and you have cloud dough! It looks like flour, but it holds its shape when pressed!
Real cloud dough uses baby oil instead of vegetable oil but I wanted something that would be edible if one of my kids decided to give it a try! The vegetable oil worked great in my opinion!
We spent a big chunk of the afternoon playing with the cloud dough outside. I think I had as much fun shaping it, creating pizzas, making snowmen and scooping pretend ice-cream as they did! We even put our feet in and imagined we were at the beach!
Our pink tray and scoops came from Michaels.
