Amazon often does A/B testing to see how people react to changes on their website. I am not sure if this is a trial or something implemented for everyone, so let me know if this is working for you. UPDATE: It looks like this has not rolled out to everyone just yet. It’s a great feature if you have it!
I noticed today that I now have an Amazon Day. What is an Amazon Day you ask? It’s a FREE shipping day for add-on items. That means when you go to checkout with an item labeled add-on, it won’t require $25 in your cart to ship as it normally would. Your add-on item will ship on your Amazon Day. I was prompted to pick a day (M-F) when I placed my order to set it. You can also change your day whenever you want. I picked Thursday, so any add-on items that I order for the week will all ship to me on Thursdays (no matter if it is 1 or 10 items).
I just bought a Slinky that is a $3 add-on item (reg. $15), and it went through without anything else in my cart.
