Prior to enrolling my daughter in school at age 2 I started looking into lunch box options. After researching and browsing around I came across Yumbox. I really debated between the Yumbox and Planetbox but am very happy with my Yumbox decision. It’s compact, easy to clean, holds a good amount of food, fits in our beatrix lunch box with an ice pack and drink, and is SUPER cute! It’s a lunch box that she will be able to use at any age.
Yumbox comes in a variety of color options and two different layouts (4 compartment or 6 compartment). We went with the 6 compartment which allows for several different items. My daughter loves the ability to pick and choose and appreciates variety! I was worried that the compartments may be too small prior to purchasing but I haven’t run into any problems. If I pack a sandwich I will cut it into smaller squares or use small cookie cutter shapes that she prefers anyway. The 4 compartment box will fit a whole sandwich. You can also pack wet foods like yogurt, applesauce or hummus without worrying about them leaking into other sections of the box!
In addition to school lunches we will occasionally pack the Yumbox with a lunch to split at the park or orchard. You should search Pinterest or Google for Yumbox lunch ideas! It really is a fun box! To amp it up even more we purchased the small forks below that fit inside the box and add a little pizazz!
